Mental stress in the workplace, combined with a lack of individual stress competence, is increasingly frequently leading to diagnoses of "mental illness" or "burnout". The consequences include long downtimes that require competent reintegration management, or even incapacity for work.  

The increasing challenges of work intensification or adverse business processes as well as private stressors, e.g. family conflicts, can lead to the individual employee experiencing chronic stress. This chronic overstrain has a long-term negative impact on health. Improved time management and self-management, resilience training and stress relief can help.  

Employee surveys or the risk assessment of psychological stress show that management skills often have to be improved as well. Here, it is important to extend existing leadership skills to those of health-oriented leadership.
